Kawasaki Z1000

The “Streetfighter” motorcycles are famous for their rough edge appeal. They make you feel like you are the biking guru who knows it all.The Z1000 from Kawasaki is a fine example of this genre. With a few tinkering here and there on the original design by the engineers, the revved up bike sports “reshaped e cam profiles, massaged fuel injection system, reduced valve sizes, increased flywheel mass, and lowered gearing to improve low speed response. An exhaust valve similar to those found on Kawasaki’s sport bikes was fitted to further enhance engine flexibility.” The engine mounting system has also been revised. The bike has a 125 horsepower up at a turbulent 10,000rpm. The instrument panel hosts a white faced tachometer with an adjoining LCD panel housing a digital speedometer, odo/tripmeter, water temperature and fuel gauges, and a clock.

Kawasaki Z1000 is very popular in Europe and now it is trying to make its mark in the States. Head over here to get the original experience by Barry Winfield
