    The Vulcania Watch

Heres the Vulcania, a steampunk concept watch designed by Fabrice Gonet and made into reality by HD3 Complication. Dont get your hopes up on getting one of these titanium and platinum Jules Verne and submarine influenced masterpieces though, theres only eleven made which in turn indicates a pretty impressive price tag, sigh.

    02_n81_8gb_music_store_lowr.jpg

Just a few short weeks after an August announcement, Nokia has officially committed to flipping the switch on the UK outpost of its Music Store tomorrow, November 1. The company perhaps realizing that it faces an uphill battle against its pretty well-entrenched competitors who shall remain unnamed for the purposes of this story is aggressively pricing tunes at 80 pence per track and full albums from 8 (about $16.50). The launch of the store goes hand-in-hand with Nokias two fresh high-capacity devices, the N81 8GB and N95 8GB, both of which also officially launch (even though theyre already readily available in many locales) come tomorrow. Most tracks are said to be 192kbps WMA, so the quality shouldnt be too shabby; let us know what you think if you decided to give it a shot, 0k?

    Hands-on Eye-Fi Wireless SD Card

    eyefi_1.jpg

Remember the worlds first wireless SD card – Eye-Fi that day? Look! Engadget got their hands-on with it. They said that the Eye-Fi only connects to trusted, encrypted, pre-configured networks, and doesnt have any means of tunneling back to your home computer. Meaning to say you cant just grab a seat at your local Starbucks and have the card to dump the days photos to Flickr or your home RAID array. More pictures after the jump.

Google puts in its indigenous PC to market

    google-pcjpg_5638.jpg

For which Google brought gOS, a modified version of Ubuntu of Linux specially made to run Google applications like GMail, Google Document on to your desktop. It will also run OpenOffice, an open-source office suite to handle Microsoft Word documents, a multimedia application like Xing DVD, video player, and Rhythmbox music management.

    Onda’s VX888 PMP

    11-3-07-vx888.jpg

Ondas not exactly known for its originality, and even though the VX888 doesnt do much to buck the trend, its not a half bad media player on paper. Aside from featuring an oh-so-trendy chrome backside, a glossy face and a strange connection with Absolut, this unit boasts a two-inch LCD, 1GB of storage, an FM tuner, photo viewer, built-in equalizer and support for XviD / AVI / FLV / APE / FLAC / WMA / MP3 files. Additionally, this player reportedly utilizes Microsofts PlayFX for 3D headphone effects and volume normalizing, but were not entirely sure we believe the claim.

Keepin’ it real fake, part XCIV: Act-429 PMP puts on a RAZR2 act

    mp4_player_razr_2_ripoff-1.jpg

Another unimaginative PMP for you this weekend, which happens to vaguely rip-off the design of the RAZR2. Nope, this doesnt have a phone stuck inside: its simply a regular little PMP that features a 2-inch screen and controls that mimic the look of Motorolas flagship. It also has an FM tuner, a speaker hey, at least you could pretend that this is a speakerphone and e-Book and gaming functionality. Dont expect to see this in your local Wal-Mart anytime soon.

Google and HTC’s Dream Phone Prototype Semi-Revealed

Sure, a Google-sponsored phone OS in the way of Android is pretty great news for mobile phone land, but what if your really had your heart set on some Google hardware this Monday morning? Well take heart, because Forbes has the skinny on an HTC device labeled Dream, (most likely not pictured above) which could very well be oft-rumored hardware of legend, and could also be hitting the market as early as next year. Apparently the phone is one of roughly five prototypes that Google had built to demonstrate the Open Handset Alliance software to potential members, and HTCs Peter Chou says in the two years its been working on OHA designs, this is the best one weve seen. The device itself, which measures about 3 x 5-inches, sports a touchscreen, navigational controls at the base, and a full swivel out keyboard. When swiveled the screen goes from portrait to landscape mode, but unfortunately thats the limit of info on the actual hardware. The software apparently has time-sensitive touch controls that expands your area control the longer you touch. Icons for your most important apps which are apparently email, text documents, and YouTube are lined up across the top of the screen. Theres also some fancy stuff under the hood to keep an ongoing browser session open to speed launch times, and the browser downloads large files in stages to speed delivery.

Sony Ericsson Headset in HBH-PV703 with K660 reveal

Tucked deep in the darkest recesses of the press release for Sony Ericssons K660 candybar, it turns out, lies a little diamond in the rough: the HBH-PV703 Bluetooth headset. Its Bluetooth 2.0 compatible and offers up auto-pairing capability, awesome for those incapable of remembering the 0000? that a good 80 percent of headsets on the market use.
